NI accredited Dynamic Positioning Induction
The Dynamic Positioning Induction course is accredited by the Nautical Institute (NI) and is the first phase in gaining a NI Dynamic Positioning Operator’s Certificate.
This course is made up of 80% theory and 20% practical training on Modal Training’s Kongsberg K-Sim Class C DP simulator. The following topics are covered:
- Principles of DP
- Elements of the DP system
- Practical operation of the DP system
- Position reference systems
- Environment sensors and ancillary equipment
- Power generation and supply and propulsion
- DP operations.
Delegates are responsible for ensuring that entry requirements are met. However, documentation will be checked before training takes place. Delegates will complete an online multiple choice examination on site. Upon completion Modal Training will issue a certificate of completion and an NI DP operator’s logbook.
Delegates will gain practical experience in an environment close to reality on our Kongsberg simulators.
